About Ernst Rampen

Ernst Rampen is a digital strategist and analog change maker. He navigates the currents of information technology and business on a raft of whiteboards, seeking to propel his clients while avoiding obstacles ahead. Accelerating where possible and cornering where needed.

As a technology advisor, he focuses on enterprise agility, next-gen architecture, application modernization, data integration, software development lifecycles and data analytics. Preferably at the same time.

While steeped in technology, Ernst believes that organization culture, team collaboration and innovation are key ingredients to achieving meaningful business outcomes.

His consulting engagements include Fortune 500 and large government clients, where he helps organizations make better technology decisions. He likes to keep a light touch and take a holistic approach. In his spare time,  he is a sailor and a photographer.

Ernst loves questions like:

  • How can we become more agile at the enterprise level to reduce time-to-market and rapidly respond to change?
  • Should we bring Design Thinking, Customer Experience and Rapid Prototyping into our development approach?
  • Can we transform our architecture and platforms to become much more adaptable on the front-end and rock-solid on the back-end?
  • How do we optimize and transform our application ecosystem to achieve our business goals?
  • What is the best way to evolve our organically grown data integration to a sustainable and business event-based model?
  • How can we take advantage of our data assets to become an information company?
  • Should we continue to invest in this modernization project that is behind schedule and over budget?
  • How do we structure our organization to balance between centralized/governed capabilities vs. decentralized/responsive capabilities?

Ernst works with Gartner Consulting. The views expressed in this blog are his own.
